Did you know that down and feathers are two different things? And that cheaper quality down comforters often use mostly feathers as the fill, which is why they feel pokey and often have feather poking holes in the cover and flying about? Down specifically refers to the soft underlayer beneath the feathers, and that is what this comforter is filled with. This is an excellent quality comforter and made from TRUE down � NOT feathers � so there are none of those pokey bits happening with this comforter that one would experience with a cheaper quality "down" products. I bought this comforter as a gift for a close friend who is always cold, no matter the season, and she raves about this comforter and how warm it keeps her. The casing is very secure and no issues with loose down bits flying out of it. I have a couple of high end European down comforters in my house and the quality of this comforter is on par with those. This one is made in Canada and uses down supplied by farms adhering to RDS standards, which was important to me for this purchase. I think it will last my friend a couple of decades!
Love the heavy weight and quality of this comforter, stitching and material is a very high-quality, very nice and heavy and well baffled so that the down will not settle into one area. I just love the feel of this in my bed at night and how it keeps me warm, but not too hot and in the summer actually keeps me cool.
I have been wanting one of these for over a decade, and I am so glad I finally made the splurge! I spent a little exta for the certified ethical down. It hasn't been much use yet, but I am hopeful it'll last a lifetime.
